*** Mission Reserved for Municipalities and Selected Innovative Companies as Part of SIIViM 2023 ***
As part of the Year of Franco-Quebec Innovation 2023, IVÉO is proud to lead a mission composed of 20 municipalities traveling to France from October 20 to 27. Eight duly selected innovative companies will also participate in this mission to explore the French market. Three economic development organizations will be present, bringing the Quebec delegation to over 75 people!
This mission is financially supported by the Government of Quebec, notably through the Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie (MRIF) and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs (MAM). It aims to strengthen relationships between the cities and innovative companies of Quebec and France by participating in the following two flagship events:
- Decentralized Cooperation Conference – La Rochelle (October 21-25)
- International Summit on Innovation in Medium-Sized Cities (SIIViM) – Nevers (October 25-28)
The Cooperation Conference is a key event that promotes exchanges between cities on topics related to territorial attractiveness, innovative cities, climate change, social inclusion, and more. The International Summit on Innovation in Medium-Sized Cities (SIIViM) aims to gather innovative solutions dedicated to the municipal world, enriched by conferences and panels aimed at sharing knowledge in the field of sustainable and smart cities.
As international-scale events, these two gatherings also encourage the creation of economic bridges between small and medium-sized cities and their innovative companies. Both are aligned with the overarching objectives of the Year of Franco-Quebec Innovation 2023. The Conference and SIIViM each aim, in their own way, to boost the growth of city-to-city and city-to-business networks located in the regions, highlighting their role in regional and national economic and technological development.
In light of the urgent need to address climate change, it has become evident that the pooling of knowledge, sharing of experiences, and transfer of technologies and businesses between different cities is essential and should be facilitated through major events of this nature.
